DirectPlastics.com’s Handy Guide to Choosing Fascia Boards

Content Image

With so many different styles, colours and types of uPVC Fascias available, it can sometimes be a daunting task when trying to decide what to choose for your property.

The first decision you need to make is whether you need a Reveal Liner (also known as a cap-over) or a Full Replacement Fascia Board.

TOP TIP: Only use Reveal Liners if the timbers you are fixing too are in sound condition, otherwise a 16mm thick replacement Fascia Board will be required to ensure your Fascias are thick enough to nail directly to the rafters whilst also ensuring they are suitable to hold your gutters in place. All of our Fascias are BBA approved.

Once you’ve established the type of uPVC Fascia Board required you need to decide the profile (or style) of the Fascia Board, whether you prefer the modern and sleek Square Fascia or the traditional Ogee or Bullnose Fascia, DirectPlastics.com has a range of profiles available in over 13 colours including White, Rosewood, Mahogany, Golden Oak, Light Oak, Black, Dark Grey (RAL 7016), Slate Grey (RAL 7015) and many more!

The final stage to choosing the right Fascia Board is to determine the width of Fascia you require. We stock them in a variety of popular sizes ranging from 150mm to 605mm widths, all of which are supplied as 5m lengths.

TOP TIP: When ordering your Fascia Boards it is best to order them bigger rather than smaller as they are easy to trim to size using a hand or power saw.
